Two cars. Five people. Nothing for miles in any direction.

A dry lake bed takes up most of the canvas — bone white, scored with old 

tyre tracks that curve away and go nowhere. Everything is bleached flat by 

midday sun. The only relief is a bruise-coloured sky and a low ridge of 

mountains on the far horizon.

A digital painting in a loose, palette-knife style, printed on 200gsm 

premium matte paper.
